Course Description

This is a series of eight modules that are designed to make you more effective in your role as a Community Leader.

The content was written by Dr. Bob Bates. Bob has worked in and around community organisations for several years. Over the past five years, he has worked with the Office of the Police & Crime Commissioner (OPCC) on issues relating to Knife Crime and Stop & Search and with the Birmingham Voluntary Service Council (BVSC) on projects related to Covid Relief, Neighbourhood Working and Holiday Playschemes. Bob has also had several books published, including the non-fiction best-selling Little Book of BIG Management Theories and Little Book of BIG Coaching Models. His books on Learning Theory and Learning Needs and Disabilities are now recommended texts at most UK university teacher training departments.  

Objective

That by the end of the session, learners will have the confidence to

  • identify the key roles in a team and the individuals best suited to fill those roles
  • understand what needs to happen to enable the team to function effectively
  • appreciate the importance of networking and key factors that make for good partnership working.

Learning Outcome

That by the end of the session, the learner will understand more about what constitutes the make-up and processes required in an effective team.
